Harry Sisson Sees Signs of Democrats FINALLY Winning the Internet (Find Out podcast on YouTube)

Since losing the 2024 election, the Democratic Party has been under scrutiny for lagging significantly in the digital creator, podcast and influencer game. Podcasters like Theo Von, Andrew Schulz, and Joe Rogan all played a big role in influencing Gen Z males to turn out for Trump. But as Trump has lost support amongst this demographic, has the Democratic Party learned anything? We welcome Harry Sisson on this episode to weigh in on how the party is catching up to the Republicans regarding their digital presence and how that positions the Democrats for both the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential election.

Did anything else significant happen in the news this week? Yes, we will cover the inadequate security situation at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. We'll dig into conservatives and the GOP's shameless hypocrisy regarding gun control and shootings and we'll have a spirited debate about violent political rhetoric. Speaking of which, we'll also cover Melania Trump's idiotic feud with Jimmy Kimmel and Trump demanding ABC fire him over a joke.

Murphy: Trump on ‘deliberate campaign to make violence more likely’ - POLITICO

"I will never stop trying to get bipartisan support but I think it is pretty clear that President Trump and this White House are in the pocket of the gun lobby," said Murphy.

"I just don't foresee," he said, "that this White House is going to support anything that would cross the gun industry and as we know right now, unfortunately, the Republicans in Congress don't ever meaningfully break from this president. So until they get the 'OK' from President Trump to break from the gun lobby, I think the chances of us getting something done are slim but that doesn't mean I won't try."

Three people killed and eight wounded in Brooklyn lounge shooting, police say

As of Sunday, there had been more than 270 mass shootings in the US this year – or 1.18 a day, according to the nonpartisan Gun Violence Archive. The online resource defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more victims are wounded or killed.

The US's perennially high rates of such shootings have prompted calls from some in the country for more substantial gun control. But Congress has largely been unable or unwilling to heed those calls.

David Hogg’s Fight for the Future of the Democratic Party (Reveal/More to the Story podcast)

The gun control activist and DNC vice chair is targeting “asleep at the wheel” incumbents. But could his primary strategy lead to his own ousting?

“It’s all gas, no brakes.” For David Hogg, a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, there’s little time away from politics right now, especially considering his $20 million campaign to disrupt his own party.

Hogg, a survivor of the 2018 mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, and gun control advocate, is looking to oust what he calls “asleep at the wheel” incumbents in primaries around the US through his political action committee, Leaders We Deserve. It’s a strategy that has won him admirers and detractors, especially from the Democratic establishment, who say he shouldn’t be meddling in primaries, considering he’s now a party boss. So far, Hogg isn’t backing down. But he argues that it might get him kicked out of the DNC altogether. The party is set to vote June 9 to decide whether to redo Hogg’s election.

Just seven years ago, Hogg was a high school senior in Parkland, taking speech and debate classes and prepping for college. But all that changed when a former student entered his school and committed the largest mass shooting at a US high school. Hogg quickly co-founded the student-led organization March For Our Lives and became one of the nation’s most prominent gun control activists. Today, he’s the first member of Gen Z to be a vice chair at the DNC and, through Leaders We Deserve, is aggressively challenging the party’s status quo to generate “an attitudinal shift.”

“What we’re trying to do is say, across the board, Democrats need to stand up and fight harder,” says Hogg, whose PAC is trying to recruit a fresh slate of young candidates. “And if there’s somebody that feels nervous about potentially being challenged as a member of Congress, they should ask themselves why that is ultimately.”

Bloomberg-backed gun regulation group pledges $45 million for election - The Washington Post

"With MAGA Republicans pushing an extreme 'guns everywhere' agenda, this election is a life-or-death moment — so Everytown is going all-out to mobilize the majority of Americans who want to live free from the fear of gun violence," Everytown for Gun Safety president John Feinblatt said in a statement. "From sending Vice President Harris to the Oval Office to helping our own volunteers win office, we'll elect gun sense champions up and down the ballot."
