About a month after alleging Nevada had as many as 16,000 non-citizens on its voter rolls, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials admitted they had confirmed that only 185 were actually non-citizens, according to records obtained by the Guardian...

AP report: Trump administration admits a glaring error in its New York health fraud accusations | PBS News

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump's administration this week acknowledged it made a significant error in figures it used to help justify a fraud probe into New York's Medicaid program, a glaring mistake that undercuts a federal campaign to tackle waste, mostly in Democratic-led states.

The error, which the administration admitted first to The Associated Press, prompted health analysts to question how many of the Republican administration's sweeping anti-fraud efforts around the country were based on faulty findings. One of a few mischaracterizations it made about New York's Medicaid program, it also reflected a common criticism that's been made of Trump's second administration — that it tends to attack first and confirm the facts later…

Senate Democrats investigate glitch that leads to duplicate student loan balances - The Washington Post

The investigation follows a Washington Post report in May about duplicate loan balances showing up on the credit reports of some borrowers whose loans were transferred between servicing companies. Although the Education Department confirmed the existence of 1.4 million duplicate records, it never provided a breakdown of how many people have been affected.

Borrowers are mostly unaware of the problem, even as their credit score — a critical factor in determining how much you pay for car loans and mortgages — drops. And some of those who discover the error have complained of waiting months to have it resolved…

A Florida teacher thought she'd settled her student loan debt 20 years ago. Then she got a bill for $1 million. - CBS News

"I see all the time, people that say, 'I haven't had a bill for my Perkins loan in 10 years, 20 years,'" said Mayotte. "It makes it really difficult for the borrower. You know, a lot of times it's a legit bill. But if it isn't, what consumer keeps records for 20 years to be able to push back on that?"

After death row inmate is executed, attorneys find DNA that belongs to someone else

…The lawsuit, however, said that "no physical evidence directly tied" Lee to Reese's murder and the state convicted him by "vastly overstating the nature and significance" of forensic testing, some of which was found to be inconclusive…

'A nightmare': why were an elderly black couple targeted in a shocking Texas police raid?

Sidney Powell’s latest Michigan lawsuit cites a witness claiming fraud — in county that doesn’t exist – Raw Story

"For example, in PA, President Trump's lead of more than 700,000 county advantage was reduced to less than 300,000 in a few short hours, which does not occur in the real world without an external influence," the legal filing said. "I conclude that manually feeding more than 400,000 mostly absentee ballots cannot be accomplished in a short time frame (i.e., 2-3 hours) without illegal vote count alteration. In another case for Edison County, MI, Vice President Biden received more than 100% of the votes at 5:59 PM EST on November 4, 2020 and again he received 99.61% of the votes at 2:23 PM EST on November 5, 2020. These distributions are cause for concern and indicate fraud."....

Trump lawyers' error-riddled affidavit - The Washington Post

... The fact that an affidavit with such a glaring error would be not just cited by the Trump campaign but filed as a part of an actual lawsuit might be the biggest takeaway here. It certainly speaks to a lack of due diligence. And it casts doubt on virtually everything else in the affidavit...

The jobs report had a ‘misclassification error.’ Here’s what happened - The Washington Post

‘Misleading’: Experts say conservatives’ report on voter fraud touted by Trump contains critical data error – Raw Story

In an April report that warns of the risks of fraud in mail-in voting, a conservative legal group significantly inflated a key statistic, a ProPublica analysis found. The Public Interest Legal Foundation reported that more than 1 million ballots sent out to voters in 2018 were returned as undeliverable. Taken at face value, that would represent a 91% increase over the number of undeliverable mail ballots in 2016, a sign that a vote-by-mail system would be a “catastrophe” for elections, the group argued.

Microsoft Word will mark two spaces after periods as an error - CNN

Microsoft has made its typographical decree: Two spaces between sentences is too many. The style choice will now be marked as an error in Microsoft Word -- and users who press the space bar twice after a period will be met with those dreaded blue squiggly lines. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/27/tech/microsoft-word-two-spaces-trnd/index.html
