Maryville Apostolic teacher sentenced to prison for student sex assault

The reports included allegations by people associated with the church of sexual misconduct by other members, and a culture that encourages men in their 20s and 30s to date teenage girls and that teaches members to never question the pastor's authority. Black teacher sues school after alleged firing over book complaints, racial profiling - ABC News

The 2017 New York Times bestselling novel by Nic Stone follows the story of a Black teenager who was thrown to the ground and handcuffed during an encounter with police. The Ivy League-bound teen writes 10 imaginary letters to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. imagining what the civil rights leader would have done in his position. 

Gray contends that he got permission from the school to teach the book, however in January white parents complained about that book claiming it "was divisive and injected what they regarded as unwelcome political views on systemic racial inequality into their children's classroom," according to the lawsuit…

North Carolina teacher suspended for allegedly separating students in class by religion | TheHill

A high school teacher in North Carolina has been suspended with pay for allegedly splitting students in her classroom up based on their religious beliefs. ABC11 reports the educator, Julia Lopp, who teaches Spanish at South Johnston High School was suspended for an undisclosed period of time as the school district conducts an investigation.
