The Guardrails (Andrew McCabe and Allison Gill; Unjustified podcast)

Former Special Counsel in the Trump investigations, Jack Smith, speaks at length about the weaponization of the department of justice at an event at George Mason University.

Trump Administration officials push to fire the US Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia over his refusal to indict NYAG Tish James and former FBI Director Jim Comey.

A trial jury finds a Los Angeles protestor not guilty of assaulting a Border Patrol Agent; and another assault case is dismissed in the District of Columbia.

The Department of Justice quietly deletes a study on the politics of domestic violence amid calls from Todd Blanche to investigate Trump protestors.

A New Study on Medication Abortion Refutes the Arguments Conservatives Are Taking to the Supreme Court – Mother Jones

A key argument from anti-abortion activists bringing a case to the Supreme Court is that medication abortion—which accounts for more than half of all abortions nationwide, according to the Guttmacher Institute—is unsafe and ineffective.

A new study provides even more evidence that this is not true and that medication abortion is just as safe when it's prescribed virtually as in person...

Autopsy Study Doesn’t Show COVID-19 Vaccines Are Unsafe - FactCheck.org

As one expert told Health Feedback, more autopsies should be done, as they may be able to identify the risk factors for adverse events following vaccination, which could make vaccination even safer. But autopsy reports such as these aren't evidence that the COVID-19 vaccines are too risky or that many people are dying from them…

"Even among males aged 12–17 years, the group with the highest incidence of cardiac complications after receipt of a second mRNA COVID-19 vaccine dose, the risk was 1.8–5.6 times as high after SARS-CoV-2 infection than after vaccination," the study said…

Are Most Late Term Abortions for Health Reasons? Actually… No (Thomas Smith and Lindsey Oster; Serious Inquiries Only podcast SIO340)

It’s an often cited statistic that a high percentage of late term abortions are to protect the health of the mother, or due to some complication. As it turns out… this is one example of a left wing talking point that just… isn’t substantiated. But importantly, it does not matter. Danish mask study has serious flaws, experts say - The Washington Post

... In letters and blog posts, public health experts express concern about the design of the study and warn that policymakers could misinterpret the research to mean that masks are ineffective.
"However, the more accurate translation is that this study is uninformative regarding the benefits (or lack thereof) of wearing masks outside of the healthcare setting," one letter states.

"As such, we caution decision-makers and the media from interpreting the results of this trial as being anything other than artifacts of weak design."

Black Lives Matter protests were overwhelming peaceful, research finds - The Washington Post

When the Department of Homeland Security released its Homeland Threat Assessment last week, it emphasized that self-proclaimed white supremacist groups are the most dangerous threat to U.S. security. But the report misleadingly added that there had been “over 100 days of violence and destruction in our cities,” referring to the anti-racism uprisings of this past summer. In fact, the Black Lives Matter uprisings were remarkably nonviolent. When there was violence, very often police or counterprotesters were reportedly directing it at the protesters.....
