Byron Donalds’ ad deceptively edited David Jolly clip on gender-affirming care – PolitiFact

An ad included a deceptively edited video of David Jolly, the Democratic nominee for Florida governor, talking about “embracing” gender-affirming care. The full clip shows Jolly was quoting another person talking about their family being open to medical care for a transgender adolescent. 

Gender-affirming care is a broad term that can include using a different name or pronouns. Treatments are typically available only to adolescents and can include puberty blockers, hormone therapy and, in rare cases, surgeries for older teens. 

Jolly said he supports people being able to make medical decisions with their doctor. His campaign did not clarify whether this includes gender-affirming surgeries for minors under 18. These surgeries are not performed on young children…

The group noted in a statement that a federal court had already ruled against the FTC over this effort when it blocked the investigation.

Texas children’s hospital to create first detransition clinic in win for Trump

Along with creating what the Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton, has called the nation’s “first-ever detransition clinic”, Paxton’s office announced that the hospital would also pay the state $10m and has been encouraged to terminate multiple physicians as part of the agreement. Texas children’s will fund all services at the detransition clinic over the first five years, and it will be free for patients. 

The hospital additionally agreed to no longer provide youth with puberty blockers, hormonal therapy or surgery that helps them align with their gender identity, Paxton’s office said...
