Trump’s Washington is packed with Claremont fellows. That’s no accident. - POLITICO

Note: The Claremont Institute is funded by Catholic activist Leonard Leo.

"The main challenge post-Trump is going to be holding this coalition together, the one that Trump built and expanding on it," Williams, the Claremont president, said. "The two Trump administrations have made a lot of progress on issues that we care about, on immigration, on separation of powers, on the bureaucracy. But really, to get ourselves back to a more robust constitutionalism, we would hope that the right would finally win a decisive and realigning election."…

Messing with Texas’ 10 Commandments (Andrew Seidel; One Nation, Indivisible podcast Episode #015)

Is America a secular nation—or a Christian theocracy in disguise?

In this episode of One Nation Indivisible, Andrew breaks down the escalating attacks on church-state separation. He takes aim at a new Texas law requiring the Ten Commandments to be posted in public school classrooms, unpacking both the biblical contradictions and constitutional violations baked into the bill.

Andrew also examines Donald Trump’s public feud with Leonard Leo over judicial loyalty and calls out Speaker Mike Johnson’s misleading claims about America’s so-called “Judeo-Christian” roots. With clarity and urgency, Andrew argues that preserving real religious freedom means rejecting government-imposed religion—no matter how popular the narrative.

There are three blocks to the show:
  • TX 10 Commandments
  • Trump fights Leo
  • Johnson's Judeo-Christian Principles

Trump goes after Leonard Leo and the Federalist Society in fury over court ruling - POLITICO

The blame, Trump said, lay with the Federalist Society. "

I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations," he wrote. "This is something that cannot be forgotten!"

Pope Bob Vs. Trump World (Conspirituality podcast, episode #258)

The most annoying convert TradCath in the world, JD Vance, whose cherubic face belies all his bootlicking aggression, gets his moment with Pope Bob. Usha stands behind him in a black mantilla. He hands the pontiff an oversized envelope: an invitation from Donald and Melania to a White House dinner. Bob smiles guardedly as he takes it and without looking at it, setting it on his desk. “I’ll read that at some point,” Vance sputters, “of course, of course.”

The scene is set for the Church-State tension of whatever phase of global fascism we’re now entering. These ghouls who jail students, disappear immigrants, and lobby for the Trump Gaza resort, shuffle into the Vatican with hats in hand to meet a fellow American who is nothing like their boss, asking for pats on the head, wondering what kind of alliance they can forge, perhaps through anti-wokeness discourse.

The enigmatic response from Pope Bob sums up where we all are as we read the incense swirls for whether he’s going to keep steering the world’s 1.4B Catholics against the tides of late-stage capitalism and environmental protection, Francis-style.

Weekly roundup: An American Pope! + We’re Using the N-Word to Fundraise Now? (Bradley Onishi and Daniel Miller; Straight White American Jesus podcast)

Brad and Dan discuss the landmark election of the first American Pope, Leo XIV, highlighting his background, his critical stance on immigration, and his potential impact on American politics.

They also examine a troubling incident in Minnesota where a woman called a 5-year-old black child the N-word and subsequently raised significant funds through a Christian platform.

The conversation ties these issues into broader themes of white supremacy, conservative Christian victimhood, and the necessity of deeper education on purity culture and white Christian nationalism.

Environmentalists Sound Alarm as the Fossil-Fuel Industry Seeks Legal Immunity – Mother Jones

The think tank has ties to Leonard Leo, who is widely known as a force behind the Federalist Society, which orchestrated the ultraconservative takeover of the American judiciary.

Last year, Leo-tied groups also launched another campaign, which one expert called "unprecedented," to convince the Supreme Court to shield oil companies from lawsuits. In decisions this week and in January, the high court denied their request...

How the [Un]Constitutional Sheriff Movement Threatens Democracy (Bradley Onishi and Daniel Miller; Straight White American Jesus podcast)

Brad is joined by first-time guest Jessica Pishko, author of the book The Highest Law in the Land

The discussion centers around the constitutional sheriff movement, highlighting how sheriffs, despite being elected law enforcement officers, often act as unaccountable power brokers within the counties they serve.

The conversation covers the sheriffs’ role in both law enforcement and detention, their hard-to-remove positions, and the influence of far-right ideologies, particularly the constitutional sheriffs led by Richard Mack.

This episode also touches upon the involvement of the Claremont Institute with sheriffs, propagandist roles, and the significant racial and political implications of their actions and ends with a call to reassess the necessity and role of county sheriffs in modern American governance.

Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo wants to “crush liberal dominance” : NPR

His plans involve the Teneo Network, which describes itself as a "talent pipeline" for the conservative movement, with ambitions to influence Hollywood, Silicon Valley and other cultural power centers that he and fellow conservatives see as dominated by liberals.

The proposed technique is similar to Leo's network of judicial nominees: raising money from conservative donors to help identify, connect and promote the careers of like-minded people. In the language of Teneo's one-page website, the group exists "to Recruit, Connect, and Deploy talented conservatives who lead opinion and shape the industries that shape society."…

Leonard Leo’s Plan to “Crush” Democracy (Conspirituality podcast)

Billionaire legal activist Leonard Leo has had a role in placing all six conservative justices on the SCOTUS, and so therefore is in large part responsible for the overturning of Roe V Wade.

But his right-wing activism isn’t even close to over, as he recently stated during a rare interview with The Daily Wire.

Derek and Julian discuss Leo’s dark vision for the future.

Two men have re-engineered the US electoral system in favor of Republicans

"…Jankowski pioneered Redmap, short for the Redistricting Majority Project. That 2010 strategy, coordinated when he worked at the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), flipped state legislative chambers in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Alabama, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee and several other states just ahead of the decennial redistricting. Then, with complete control of those processes, as well in Florida, Georgia, Texas and elsewhere, the RSLC helped draw some of the most extreme partisan gerrymanders in history, locking in huge Republican advantages in state legislatures and congressional delegations…"

Leonard Leo is the other.
