Auchter's Art: Lose my number

Interspersed with that are clips of Mike Rogers claiming to be wanting to bring down drug and grocery prices, being against war with Iran, and making AI safety his top priority, when there is clear evidence that he has historically been working against all of these.

If They Ever Ran Out of Fear | Powerful Folk Protest Song About Fear, Hope and democracy

One Republican campaign speech after another promises a new crisis, a new enemy, and another reason to be afraid—but what if the fear finally ran out? “If They Ever Ran Out of Fear” is an original contemporary folk protest song that argues today's Republican Party has made fear its most powerful political strategy, replacing hopeful ideas and meaningful solutions with an endless cycle of manufactured threats, scapegoats, and culture-war distractions. Through evocative storytelling, rich vocal harmonies, and an uplifting Americana-inspired sound, the song asks a simple but devastating question: if fear no longer worked, what would they be running on? Created for those who oppose Donald Trump, reject authoritarian politics, and believe America deserves leaders who solve problems instead of exploiting anxiety, “If They Ever Ran Out of Fear” is ultimately a reminder that hope, truth, and democracy become stronger the moment we look beyond the lies—and refuse to let fear decide our future.

2024 election ads on immigration mislead voters - Washington Post

The Washington Post analyzed the transcripts, images and on-screen text featured in more than 700 campaign ads that mention immigration and that ran from January through June for the presidential and Senate races, as well as congressional primaries and major state campaigns.

Taken as a whole, the ads convey an unrealistic portrait of the border as being overrun and inaccurately characterize immigrants generally as a threat, of which there is little evidence. FBI data show U.S. border cities are among the nation's safest. And a 2023 report from a group of economists found immigrants are at least 30 percent less likely to be incarcerated than U.S.-born individuals...

Trump-linked dark-money group spent $90m on racist and transphobic ads in 2022, records show

Citizen for Sanity's spending has continued into this election cycle, with more recent ads focusing intensely on "anti-white" racism. One ad from last year plays on racist fears of white Americans being disadvantaged by diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) metrics, falsely claiming that "leftwing politicians think skin color and gender identity should determine who gets the job". Another ad declares that equity is "leftwing code for whites and Asians not welcome". The group asserts that "Democrats used to care about the middle class, now they just care about your race and your gender." Other ads have targeted Democrats in competitive races, such as Senator Sherrod Brown in Ohio…

Fox News hit with election complaint after Biden ad given to Trump son-in-law

"… If you try to get around that disclosure law … by giving something that is the equivalent of money, that you would need to spend money on, or that could be considered something of value for a political campaign, you're either not supposed to do it or it's supposed to be disclosed. And it's pretty clear."…

Facebook Set Its Advertisting Prices Higher for Biden Campaign Than for Team Trump, Report Says

Facebook reportedly charged Democratic candidate Joe Biden an average of $2.50 more for each 1,000 impressions on campaign advertisements featured on the social media platform in comparison to the price for President Donald Trump, according to The Markup. In swing states between July and August, Biden paid more than double than Trump did to feature his advertisements. In September, Trump’s lower prices ended and both campaigns paid about the same. In October, Biden paid a little bit less than Trump. However, had Biden paid Trump’s average for Facebook’s advertising prices throughout this election season, he would have had to spend $8 million less than he actually did....

Facebook removes Trump campaign ads with misleading claims about refugees

On Wednesday the social media platform took down the Trump-sponsored advertisements which claimed, without evidence, that accepting refugees would increase Americans’ risk of Covid-19. The ad, which featured a video of Joe Biden talking about the border and asylum seekers, claimed, also without evidence, that the Democratic candidate’s policies would increase the number of refugees from Syria, Somalia and Yemen by “700%”. More than 38 versions of the ad were run on Facebook and were seen by hundreds of thousands of people before the company removed them.
