At one point in the hearing, Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) repeatedly banged his fist on the table to loudly defend Obamacare and demand universal coverage.

Bill Cassidy offers misleading defense in face-off with Jimmy Kimmel | PolitiFact

Following a sharp rebuke by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., hit the airwaves on Sept. 20 to defend his bill that would undo much of the Affordable Care Act.

The bill, which Cassidy proposed with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was approaching Senate floor consideration when Kimmel took aim at the bill’s impact on some Americans’ ability to secure health insurance.

Under the Graham-Cassidy bill, Cassidy said, "More people will have coverage, and we protect those with pre-existing conditions. (In) states like Maine, Virginia, Florida, Missouri, there will be billions more dollars to provide health insurance coverage for those in those states who have been passed by by Obamacare."....

Senators React To 'Awful' CBO Score Of GOP's Obamacare Repeal Bill

On Monday night, as a snowstorm bore down on Washington, D.C., Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) marched into the Capitol. In his hand he clenched a copy of the Congressional Budget Office's newly released report finding that the GOP bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act would cause 24 million people to lose their health insurance over the next decade.

"It's awful," he said of the report. "President Trump says he wants as many people covered as under Obamacare, and in that Washington Post article he said health care should be affordable. So if there's truly 24 million people [losing their coverage], of course it's a concern."...
