Prospect of life on Saturn’s moons rises after discovery of organic substances

The new study, he added, proves that complex prebiotic molecules are coming from the subsurface ocean of Enceladus. "That means we now have all elements required for Enceladus to harbour life – liquid water, energy and complex prebiotic molecules," Helbert said. "This makes it so timely to send a mission that searches for signs of life."…

MAGA Church Plans to Raffle a Trump AR-15 at Second Amendment Rally – Mother Jones

The Rod of Iron Ministries was founded by Hyung Jin "Sean" Moon as a militant breakaway from the Unification Church founded by his father, the late Sun Myung Moon. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, Pastor Sean Moon's sermons and social media videos espouse a particular End Times theology that predicts a future overthrow of the American government. He believes the AR-15 is an instrument of God's divine justice—the "rod of iron" invoked in Revelation 2:27.

Moon often wears a crown of bullets, carries a gold-plated assault weapon, and rides a Harley in a helmet with a creepy skeleton facemask. (Moon also seems to have musical aspirations: He raps under the name King Bullethead and will also perform at this weekend's Freedom Fest.)…

No, climate change isn’t driven by solar activity and lunar phases - PolitiFact

Scientists found that the sun and moon do affect Earth's climate, but their influence is small and does not account for the rapid planetary climate changes of the last several decades. An overwhelming number of scientists and scientific organizations agree that human activity significantly affects climate change…

Trump order encourages US to mine the moon

The world may be racked by the coronavirus, but Donald Trump has less earthly concerns on his mind, too, after signing an executive order encouraging the US to mine the moon for minerals. The executive order makes clear that the US doesn’t view space as a “global commons”, opening the way for the mining of the moon without any sort of international treaty.

Trump's NASA Chief Pick Is Likely To Draw Criticism From Scientists : The Two-Way : NPR

President Trump's pick for the next leader of NASA is a fighter pilot who wants Americans to return to the moon but doesn't believe that humans are causing climate change. Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma has to be confirmed by the Senate before taking charge of NASA, and the two senators who represent Florida's Space Coast have already publicly objected to the choice of a politician as head of the space agency....

One of Saturn’s Moons Has Potential for Life

All of us can thank water for helping life emerge from the remnants of the big bang. Earth is awash in that slippery combination of hydrogen and oxygen, but we've always thought the rest of the solar system is mostly barren rock, noxious gases, and ice made from some really nasty stuff. This is not entirely the case, it seems. NASA announced Thursday that a subsurface ocean has been detected on Enceladus, one of Saturn's moons, with hydrogen pouring into it from hydrothermal activity on the sea floor....
