Google targets low-income US women with ads for anti-abortion pregnancy centers, study shows

While pregnancy crisis centers offer pregnant women resources such as diapers and pregnancy testing, they have also been known to employ a number of shady tactics to convince women seeking an abortion to keep their pregnancies. Those include posing as abortion clinics online though they do not offer abortion care, refusing pregnancy tests for women who say they intend to have an abortion and touting widely disputed research about abortion care to patients. Crisis centers, which go largely unregulated despite offering medical services, have been known to target low-income women precisely because they find it harder to travel out of state for abortion care…

Last year, Google came under fire after a Tech Transparency Project investigation found the company was serving people with ads for pregnancy crisis centers suggesting they offer abortions even though they do not – violating the platform's own rules on misleading advertisements…

Judge orders Newt Gingrich to testify in Georgia 2020 election probe | PBS NewsHour

The petition says Gingrich was involved along with others associated with the Trump campaign in a plan to run television ads that "repeated and relied upon false claims about fraud in the 2020 election" and encouraged members of the public to contact state officials to push them to challenge and overturn the election results based on those false claims…

Stephen Miller's racist ads accuse Joe Biden of being anti-white

Like so many political ads, these from Miller's group are flat-out wrong. The Washington Post's Fact Checker gives the commercials three Pinocchios (its designation for any claim that has "Significant factual error and/or obvious contradictions"). Using clever language, chopped up out-of-context sentences by Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the ads are, as the newspaper points out, a "disingenuous stew that claim the Biden administration and liberals are harming Whites with policies intended to deal with racial inequities, such as minority communities being more affected by the coronavirus pandemic." FactCheck.org also points out that the claims about the alleged "anti-white" policies and statements don't hold up...

Stephen Miller group’s radio ads accuses Biden of ‘racism’ towards white Americans - POLITICO

The claim that Harris said non-white citizens should be prioritized for disaster relief has been mischaracterized, according to fact checks. Another fact check found the comment from Biden about Covid relief ignored the entirety of his statement, as he was referring to how minority-owned businesses have been disproportionately impacted by the economic crisis...

Toyota to stop donating to GOP lawmakers who objected to certifying Biden’s win - The Washington Post

… Earlier Thursday, the Lincoln Project, a PAC started by anti-Trump Republicans, targeted Toyota in a new ad over its continued support of members of Congress who voted to overturn the election results. The anti-Trump group vowed that it would be the first in a series of ads targeting companies "who have broken their pledges to withhold campaign funds to Members of Congress who enabled, empowered, and emboldened former president Trump and the insurrectionists."

Facebook removes Trump campaign ads with misleading claims about refugees

On Wednesday the social media platform took down the Trump-sponsored advertisements which claimed, without evidence, that accepting refugees would increase Americans’ risk of Covid-19. The ad, which featured a video of Joe Biden talking about the border and asylum seekers, claimed, also without evidence, that the Democratic candidate’s policies would increase the number of refugees from Syria, Somalia and Yemen by “700%”. More than 38 versions of the ad were run on Facebook and were seen by hundreds of thousands of people before the company removed them.
