Democrats accuse DoJ of not releasing millions of files despite legal requirement

"Donald Trump and his Department of Justice have now made it clear that they intend to withhold roughly 50% of the Epstein files, while claiming to have fully complied with the law. This is outrageous and incredibly concerning," Garcia said in a statement. "The oversight committee subpoena directs Pam Bondi to release all the files to the committee, while protecting survivors."

He added: "We are demanding the names of Epstein's co-conspirators and the men and pedophiles who abused women and girls. We will begin a thorough review of this latest limited production, but let's be clear: our work and investigation are just getting started."…

Kilmar Abrego García released from ICE custody - The Washington Post

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis ordered officials to release the 30-year-old undocumented immigrant and longtime Maryland resident in part to ensure he has a fair immigration process after finding that Justice Department attorneys had "misled" the court at a hearing last month. Government lawyers and an ICE witness alleged officers had to deport him to the African nation of Liberia because Costa Rica had reneged on a deal to offer him refuge.

But the judge, citing reporting by The Washington Post and other media outlets, noted that Costa Rica had "never wavered" in its commitment to accept Abrego. He was released from a Pennsylvania detention facility shortly before 5 p.m., his lawyers said.

FURIOUS Judge Gives CEASE AND DESIST to Trump

A federal judge on Monday said the Trump regime is “absolutely forbidden” from removing mistakenly deported man Kilmar Abrego Garcia from the U.S., for now. Judge Paula Xinis blocked Abrego Garcia’s deportation to Uganda until she can hold a hearing to determine whether the administration will let him contest his removal to the third country. The bid to deport him comes just 3 days after he was freed from custody in a criminal case filed against him in federal court in Tennessee. He filed suit after he was taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody Monday when he reported for a check-in at ICE’s Baltimore field office.

Robert Garcia demands answers on deal to send MS-13 bosses to El Salvador - The Washington Post

"If true, this surreptitious deal struck by the Trump administration has profound implications for the integrity of the United States justice system and national security," Garcia wrote. "The Committee demands to understand whether U.S. officials facilitated the repatriation of MS-13 leaders to prevent them from cooperating with American prosecutors."

The gang leaders were charged in a pair of cases playing out in federal court on Long Island that U.S. officials have described as "the highest-reaching and most sweeping indictments targeting MS-13 and its command and control structure in U.S. history."

The indictments alleged that many of the accused had been directly involved in negotiating a truce with unnamed members of Bukele's government to tamp down public gang killings in El Salvador to help the president's party win a supermajority in 2021 legislative elections.

In exchange, according to one of the indictments, Salvadoran officials offered the gang leaders cash and other perks, including improved prison conditions, control of territory and a commitment that El Salvador would deny U.S. requests to extradite them.

"In effect," Garcia wrote in his letter, "the Salvadoran government traded criminal impunity for political gain."…
