Women from around the globe explain why they marched in their home countries
Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington was a global event. At last count, 60 different countries held 673 sister marches across all seven continents.
The millions of people who turned out for those marches all had their own reasons for taking to the streets. ThinkProgress asked some of the women who organized protests outside the United States to describe their reasons for getting involved.
What follows are the perspectives of women from all over the world on why they marched and what their next steps will be....

Pants on Fire claim that George Soros money went to Women's March protesters
According to several blog posts, the women’s marches around the country did not reflect grassroots concern over the policies of President Donald Trump. Rather, they were the work of the liberal billionaire philanthropist George Soros.
The Constitution.com blog posted that "the liberal media and Democrat pundits are mischaracterizing the past weekend’s march as grassroots. Listening to them, people would believe that the participants were sincere, spontaneous and concerned citizens. While some were genuine, most were paid minions."
The post went on to say, "George Soros funded over 50 organizations partnering and participating in the March for Women’s Rights. Part of that funding went straight into the protesters pockets. They weren’t there for rights. They were there for riches."
In this fact-check, we focus on whether Soros money went into the pockets of protesters. There is no evidence that's true....

Congressional Republicans Ignore Women's March, Push Forward With Agenda (The Huffington Post)
After what may have been the largest demonstration in U.S. history, congressional Republicans don't seem to think they need to do anything differently to address concerns of protesters at the Women's March, literally shrugging off questions about the rallies and vowing instead to move ahead with their agenda. ...

Wow! People across the USA marched from the streets right into their elected rep's offices today
Fresh off the historic women’s march, which was possibly the largest protest in world history, the men and women of the movement followed up on their promise to take action. In the first of many planned actions from the people Indivisible Guide (in partnership with MoveOn.org, Working Family Party and even your friends here at Daily Kos), constituents around the country visited their local Senate offices and WOW! From Kansas to Texas, California to New York, constituents turned out in force to back the Affordable Care Act and express opposition to Trump Health and Human Services nominee Tom Price. Check out the images and note the camera crews from local coverage around the country. When people show up, our elected representatives have to sit up and take notice....
