Trump EPA Nearly Doubles Threshold for Safe Formaldehyde Exposure — ProPublica

But environmental advocates see the Trump administration's reversal on cancer risk as a reflection of industry's influence over the agency. 

"The science on formaldehyde hasn't changed; these are the same arguments that the chemical industry's been peddling for the last decade," said Jonathan Kalmuss-Katz, an attorney at Earthjustice, the country's biggest public interest environmental law firm. "The only difference is that they've finally found an administration willing to ignore the findings of its own scientists."…

House committee hits EPA with subpoenas | TheHill

The House Science Committee has formally issued two subpoenas to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), demanding answers on various scientific rulemakings that lawmakers argue have been unnecessarily delayed. The Committee on Science, Space and Technology sent the subpoenas to EPA late Friday afternoon, fulfilling a months' long threat to force the hand of the agency to respond to oversight document requests. The move is the latest escalation of a brewing conflict between the agency and the congressional committee, chaired by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), that oversees it.....

EPA staff worried about toxic chemical exposure — for Pruitt - POLITICO

"You can add 'EPA chemical safety science' to the list of taxpayer funded benefits that Scott Pruitt kept for himself. The irony would be comical if this wasn't so dangerous.
