The Proud Boys Next Door – Mother Jones
One of my critiques of American history and polite, middle-class white liberal society is this idea that violence is only an aberration of the norm. It’s only something that is carried out by the fringe or the extremes of society, when fundamentally, the American project is a project built by violence,” he says...

Watch for free on Tubi.tv — https://tubitv.com/movies/100020971/bad-faith
BAD FAITH is a feature-length documentary that explores the dangerous rise of Christian Nationalism in the United States. Part archival chronicle, part exposé, the film reveals the secretive political machinery that has relentlessly sought to weaken and destroy American democracy in order to promote its authoritarian vision.
Our cast includes religious leaders, historians, investigative journalists, state senators, political activists, sociologists, and a former high-ranking member of the Trump administration. They will guide us on a revelatory journey into why our nation is so divided and how it got there. Several have dedicated their lives to challenging Christian Nationalism's theocratic vision for America and the film chronicles their actions.

Documentary 'Every Body' centers the lives and activism of intersex people : NPR
"Yeah. So I like to think of intersex as sex characteristics. And, you know, when I say sex characteristics, I mean hormones, like testosterone or estrogen, chromosomes, like XX, XY, X, XXY, internal organs like ovaries, testes, ovotestes and external organs like penis, vagina. So we all have sex characteristics, but people with variations in their sex characteristics are often targeted by the medical establishment and by practitioners for what sometimes are very harmful medical interventions."
…
So although I was, you know, born with a small phallus and undescended testes, I was assigned female at birth. And they were hoping that my mom would do really invasive medical surgery to sort of align my body with sort of social expectations of female, right? And even though they had done the surgery, I still didn't necessarily feel more like a girl. I didn't fit in. So I went to college. And one night, I'm sort of at my student job, and I type in testicular feminization syndrome. And then this updated term, androgen insensitivity syndrome, came up. And I sort of looked at the characteristics of AIS, and I was literally in shock because I was like, that's me. That's my body. And all of the doctors who I had spoken to or interacted with up until that point did not tell me the truth about my body.

‘Every Body’: Eye-opening documentary sheds light on intersex people - The Washington Post
…Wall (he/him) was born with undescended testes and an unusually small penis, ambiguous enough that he was eventually "assigned" the female sex — and the name Suzanne — and raised as a girl after a gonadectomy. He says he always felt like a boy.
Intersex activist Sean Saifa Wall in "Every Body."
Gallo (they/them) was born with a penis but no testes; surgery was performed to place prosthetic testes in his empty scrotum. Today, Gallo is a nonbinary and queer artist/activist known for the short film "Ponyboi."…

New Brett Kavanaugh Sexual Assault Allegations in Secret Sundance Doc ‘Justice’
Stier relays that he lived in the same Yale dorm as Kavanaugh and, one evening, wound up in a room where he saw a severely inebriated Kavanaugh with his pants down, at which point a group of rowdy soccer players forced a drunk female freshman to hold Kavanaugh's penis. Stier states that he knows this tale "first-hand," and that the young woman in question did not subsequently remember the incident, nor did she want to come forward after she'd seen the vile treatment that Ford and Ramirez were subjected to by the public, the media, and the government…
‘I hope this triggers outrage’: surprise Brett Kavanaugh documentary premieres at Sundance | Sundance 2023 | The Guardian
"I do hope this triggers outrage," said producer Amy Herdy in a Q&A after the premiere in Park City, Utah. "I do hope that this triggers action, I do hope that this triggers additional investigation with real subpoena powers."
The film provides a timeline of the allegations, initially that Kavanaugh was accused by Christine Blasey Ford of sexual assault when she was 15 and he 17. She alleged that he held her down on a bed and groped her, and tried to rip her clothes off before she got away. Kavanaugh was also accused of sexual misconduct by Deborah Ramirez, who alleged that he exposed himself and thrust his penis at her face without her consent at a college party.
Kavanaugh denies the allegations. He turned down requests to take part in the documentary...

Student Loan Documentary Director Explains Why It's so Hard to Declare Bankruptcy Over Loans
Few borrowers — even those struggling with cancer and debilitating epilepsy — are able to discharge their student loans under the "undue hardship" standard, which is a more strict requirement than discharging other debts, including credit cards, gambling debt, or collection agency accounts...
"This movie on the surface is about student loans, but I think it's really in many ways about our democracy more broadly," Zeff said. "Because you're really seeing how a bill becomes a law — and that it's not the way we were taught when we were in school with the 'Schoolhouse Rock' — and then in terms of trying to even track down who's behind some of these provisions, that was a whole shocking escapade. And without giving away too much, it involves some people who were never elected, and who most people have never heard of."…

A new documentary exposes the truth about the religious right - The Washington Post
In supporting Trump, Falwell and the religious right got exactly what they had spent two generations working for. Trump gave them three new Supreme Court justices willing to ignore popular opinion, throw out precedent and overturn the Roe v. Wade decision that guaranteed a right to an abortion. Today's Supreme Court is their court...

'God Forbid' Jerry Falwell Jr. actually practiced what he preached
After watching "God Forbid," you may wonder how so many evangelicals could have looked up to a man who Granda claims liked to film his wife having sex with a younger man and who, at the very least, says he knew about their sexual affair and "let it go on." What you won't wonder about, however, is why so many evangelicals continue to remain so low key about Falwell's reported transgressions or continue to send their children to Liberty.
Simply put, power is more important that morality to them. On every level…
