Epstein Never Died (Conspirituality podcast, episode #267)
Jeffrey Epstein’s name is being screamed into the headlines again.
The late and former self-described best-friend of Donald Trump's highly suspicious 2019 death following his arrest for child sex trafficking has been a loose thread for both rabid conspiracists and the reality-based community.
Now that prominent conspiracy personalities are in the highest positions in America's law enforcement agencies, the QAnon faithful have been expecting all the damning details about the Democrat cabal to emerge.
But that's not what's happened.
Now Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino are in the collective hot seat as MAGA demand answers, while some appear to be colluding with Donald Trump in their own Deep State cover-up.

How the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files became a vehicle for QAnon | Trump administration | The Guardian
Despite the importance of the Epstein files to the Maga and QAnon movements, Lewis thinks that "it's unlikely this outrage will last".
"The culture war will move on to its next target … and the rage machine will follow with conspiracies and vitriol," said Lewis. "It's much easier to be angry at an immigrant than to wonder whether you've been lied to for the last eight years."…

The Deeper State (Conspirituality podcast #247)
This week we’re looking at how folks who associated themselves with the magical and morbid QAnon memes about the “coming storm” that would destroy the Deep State have become that storm, mainly by talking about it, and are now in the position to congeal an even Deeper State characterized by more repression and control. They’re doing it both as conspiracists and as conspiracy theorists would predict: as rich guys pretending to be oppressed.
This opens up the question of “Have we been here before in the US, and what happened?” The parallels are uncanny. In the late 1920s, Henry Ford had his car dealers stick copies of The Dearborn Independent newspaper in the glove compartments of new cars. That was the rag in which he published excerpts of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Today another auto baron, Elon Musk, busts out seigheils and posts Nazi memes whenever he likes. But only one of them got a White House office.

How Kash Patel, Trump’s FBI Pick, Embraced the Unhinged QAnon Movement – Mother Jones
…At the end of Trump's first presidency, when he was a Pentagon official, he spread the bonkers idea that Italian military satellites had been employed to turn Trump votes to Joe Biden votes in the 2020 election. And he has falsely claimed that the Trump-Russia scandal was a hoax cooked up by the FBI and so-called Deep State to sabotage Trump...

Nearly one in four Americans believe political violence justified to ‘save’ US | US politics | The Guardian
PRRI has also been tracking the QAnon conspiracy movement since 2021. Across party lines there has been a significant increase in QAnon believers (from 14% to 23%) and a decrease in QAnon rejecters (from 40% to 29%). Why Always the Jews? (w/Mike Rothschild)
Who could be a better guide through the fever dream of modern anti-semitism—the socialism of fools—than a scrappy young scion of the House of Rothschild? How has Mike, this mysterious insider—visible on CNN but a seeming ghost in real life—used his inheritance and connections to score book deals with the Fake News Media? Will he redeem his family name?
Just joking! Author and friend of the pod Mike Rothschild is no relation to the banking family that has lived rent-free in the minds of antisemites and conspiracy theorists for over two centuries now. He is the author of 2021’s The Storm Is Upon Us: How QAnon Became a Movement, Cult, and Conspiracy Theory of Everything. His new book out less that two years later, is Jewish Space Lasers: The Rothschilds and 200 Years of Conspiracy Theories. Mike joins us now from his summer palace in the South of France, um, actually his home office in Los Angeles to discuss the very stupid but dangerous groundswell of Jew hatred now filling our feeds.

The Reawaken America Tour: Anti-Semitic, Anti-Democratic, and Openly Violent (Bradley Onishi and Daniel Miller; Straight White American Jesus podcast)
Brad talks to Rev. Nathan Empsall, the Executive Director of Faithful America. They discuss the Reawaken America Tour, which just relaunched in Las Vegas a week ago. As Rev. Nathan says, the tour platforms speakers who are anti-Semitic, anti-democratic, and openly violent. It is a dangerous movement that is, unfortunately, tying together explicit Christian practice – like baptism on stage – with insidious American nationalism. The result? Maybe the most potent magnet for Christian nationalism alive today.

A Not Conspiracy Theory About Conspiracy Theories (Thomas Smith; Serious Inquiries Only podcast #378)
Psychology professor Dr. Ashley Scolaro is back! This time she's giving us a primer on the psychological theories about conspiracy theories. I think this will be the beginning of a series on this, since it might be the most important issue of our time. A whole lot of people right now believe a whole lot of really stupid things that are disconnected from reality. So, let's try to understand why, and to start the process of figuring out how to deprogram people. Should be super easy, simple, done in like 10 minutes.

Sound of Freedom: the QAnon-adjacent thriller seducing America
The first rule of QAnon: you don't talk about QAnon where the normals can hear you.
Caviezel has saved that for his promotional media appearances, such as a recent drop-in to Steve Bannon's show War Room on MyPillow proprietor Mike Lindell's streaming channel Lindell TV. In the course of their interview, he conveyed the severity of the situation by explaining that an enterprising salesperson would have to move 1,000 barrels of oil to match the sum they'd get for filling one barrel with the rendered corpses of the innocent. Elsewhere, he's parroted falsehoods about Pizzagate and other underground cells subsisting on human blood, all of it pointing back to a foundation of conspiratorial thought targeting the Jewish and transgender communities.
These zestier strains of scaremongering are absent in the text itself, but they lurk in the shadows around a film outwardly non-insane enough to lure in the persuadable; the disappointingly un-juicy Sound of Freedom pretends to be a real movie, like a "pregnancy crisis center" masquerading as a bona fide health clinic. (Our hero Ballard, by the way, went on to found the paramilitary rescue squad Operation Underground Railroad, a group criticized as "arrogant, unethical, and illegal" by the authorities. But then, they would say that. They're in on it, this goes all the way to the top, etc.)

Last weekend, the leading voices of the QAnon camp gathered in Las Vegas to discuss the state of the world and the future of their movement. The prominent names in attendance at the convention included Jim and Ron Watkins, a father-and-son pair accused of inventing the conspiracy theory.

Anti-social personality traits are stronger predictors of QAnon conspiracy beliefs than left-right orientations
When it comes to predicting conspiracy beliefs, much of the literature focuses on political partisanship. But new research published in American Politics Research, suggests that there are other more important factors. The national study revealed that anti-social personality traits, anti-establishment orientations, and support for Trump were stronger predictors of conspiracy beliefs than left-right orientations…

Weapons of Mass Delusion: When the Republican Party Lost Its Mind (Dave Davies; Fresh Air podcast)
Does Marjorie Taylor Greene represent the future of the Republican Party?
New York Times political reporter Robert Draper says the party's embrace of lies and conspiracy theories has opened the door to fringe actors, who have become among the party's most influential leaders. He points to Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as a prime example of the party's extreme new direction.
Greene has expressed support for QAnon conspiracies and reportedly endorsed the idea of executing Democratic leaders. While campaigning for office in 2020, she posed with a custom AR-15 pistol in her campaign ads and presented herself as a "Trump mini-me," Draper says.
"This seemed outlandish to sort of run-of-the-mill Republicans, but the base wanted a MAGA warrior to send from their district to Washington, and that's what they got," Draper says.
In his new book, Weapons of Mass Delusion: When the Republican Party Lost Its Mind, Draper writes that in the time since Trump left office, the Republican Party has plunged deeper into conspiracy mongering — and the notion that Democrats are not just wrong, but also evil. He says the GOP's stubborn embrace of the stolen election narrative undermines democracy and plays straight into the hands the nation's enemies.

QAnon follower who chased officer on January 6 convicted of felonies
Prosecutors said that Jensen – carrying a knife with a three-inch blade in his pocket – barked at Goodman as well as other officers to "back up" and ordered them to arrest Trump's vice-president, Mike Pence, whom the mob was threatening to hang if he didn't halt the certification of Biden's electoral college win…
…At Jensen's trial, concluding Friday, his defense attorney portrayed him as "a terribly confused man" whose mind was even more twisted by QAnon as well as Covid lockdowns. Jensen's attorney also claimed his client had never physically hurt anyone during his time at the Capitol.
But jurors needed just four hours to convict Jensen as charged of assaulting police, obstructing a congressional proceeding, interfering with law enforcement, entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon, which are all felonies…
