I loved this apologetic argument... Then I learned history.

I used to use this argument for the resurrection. I don't anymore — and once you understand where the empty tomb stories actually come from, you'll see why. This video responds to a popular apologetic case built on three claims: the empty tomb, early creeds, and eyewitness testimony. I'm focusing on the empty tomb claim specifically — and the problem starts with a simple fact: Paul, our earliest source, never mentions an empty tomb at all.

Monte Mader Deconstructs Alt-Right Christian Nationalism (Find Out podcast on YouTube)

We're mixing things up on this episode of the Find Out Podcast with our guest, Monte Mader. Monte is not only a culture critic, musician and podcaster, she was raised in a far right Christian Nationalist community who has flipped sides and now offers guidance to white, ex-Evangelical Christians who want to leave the MAGA movement.

Monte explains to us deeply engrained her family was in Christian Nationalist Republican politics. Growing up in a deeply religious household in Wyoming, her father home schooled and raised her to believe that you can't be a Christian and a Democrat. We find out what caused her to finally leaver the Christian Nationalist community and why they worship Donald Trump.

He Tried to Defend Old Testament Violence… Scholars Push Back (feat Dr Kipp Davis & Dr Joshua Bowen) (Paulogia podcast)

In a recent interview with Melissa Dougherty, Christian apologist Paul Copan attempts to defend the violence of the Old Testament—arguing that passages about conquest and destruction are widely misunderstood.

But when those claims are examined alongside the work of biblical scholars like ‪@DrKippDavis‬ and Joshua Bowen of ‪@DigitalHammurabi‬ , serious questions arise. Do Copan’s explanations actually hold up?

Immaculate Apologetics? (Dan McClellan; Data Over Dogma podcast on YouTube)

Tucker Carlson and Jeremiah Johnston don't know what they're talking about when it comes to history. Johnston recently went on Tucker's show (he still has a show- weird, right?), and claimed, among many other things, that Jesus and his crucifixion are better attested by the evidence than Julius Caesar. It's an odd apologetic, but is it possibly true?

Then we'll discuss the immaculate conception, which everybody thinks they understand, but only half of them are right. But even if you correctly understand what that phrase is referring to, is it Biblical?

What Bayes’ Theorem Really Says About the Resurrection (feat Brian Blais/Than Christopoulos resp)

Is the "Maximal Data Case" for the resurrection of Jesus a sophisticated historical argument, or just "for the Bible tells me so" with extra steps?

When apologist Than Christopoulos accused YouTuber Paulogia of "mathematical malpractice" for his skepticism, Paulogia enlisted physicist and statistical inference expert Dr. Brian Blais to respond.

This video features Dr. Blais's detailed breakdown of the debate, where he corrects the Bayesian equations, reframes the data, and argues that the apologist's own math reveals a conclusion baked in from the start, turning a theological debate into a fascinating lesson on logic and probability.

“You Need to be Open to Other Perspectives” (Bradley Onishi and Daniel Miller; Straight White American Jesus podcast)(It’s in the Code Ep 136)

If someone is working through faith deconstruction, it’s a virtual guarantee that they will be confronted with this dismissal of their questions and critiques at some point.

But what exactly is going on when a partisan of high-control Christianity says this?

What response are they trying to bring about from the person deconstructing? And how is this response intended to insulate high-control religion from criticism and honest questioning?

Join Dan this week for answers to these and other questions.
