Last week, a sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh rattled the confirmation process.
The accuser, California professor Christine Blasey Ford, told The Washington Post on Sunday that Kavanaugh tried to sexually assault her at a high school party in the ’80s.
Kavanaugh has “categorically and unequivocally” denied the account and is scheduled to testify before Congress on Monday. Ford, who has requested an FBI investigation into the incident, is negotiating conditions for her testimony.
President Trump came to Kavanaugh’s defense, telling reporters that “it’s a very unfair thing what’s going on.” He went on to say that if Ford “shows up and makes a credible showing, that will be very interesting and we’ll have to make a decision.”
We discussed Kavanaugh’s testimony in the era of #MeToo. You can hear that conversation here...
