The pitch sounds promising, because it's December 2008, and the economy has collapsed all around you. The stock market has tanked, major financial firms have gone under, and the federal government has just begun to enact an unprecedented $700 billion bailout in order to keep credit flowing through the financial sector. In Phoenix, Ariz., where you live, neighbors are being forced out of their homes due to foreclosure filings.
