Doctors and teachers who work with gay, lesbian, and bisexual teenagers have long warned that they are especially vulnerable to a host of psychological and physical harms. Now the first national study to identify these high school students and track their health risks confirms those fears: Sexual-minority teens are indeed at far greater risk for depression, bullying, and many other types of violence than their straight peers.
