Urge Your Representative to Strike Taxpayer-Funded Discrimination from the Defense Bill...
Every year, members of Congress sneak in bad provisions that have nothing to do with national defense into the must-pass National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This year, the House version of the bill includes a drastic provision called the Russell amendment, introduced by Rep. Steve Russell (R-OK), that would authorize taxpayer-funded employment discrimination.
Although the NDAA is supposed to only govern the Department of Defense, this sweeping amendment would apply to every single federal grant and contract entered into by every single federal agency. This week, the House of Representatives will debate the defense bill and there may be a chance to strike this harmful amendment. Now is the time to tell your Representative to support this effort!...
