One of President Trump’s favorite ways to contextualize the coronavirus pandemic is to remind people that it’s afflicting a lot of other countries, too. When he was first holding regular briefings during the spring, he would consistently point out that more than 180 nations around the world were battling the virus — a number so high that one friend of Trump’s told the president that he “didn’t know we had so many countries in the world” (at least, according to Trump). ....
