Heidi Cruz Compares Husband's White House Bid To Efforts To End Slavery

Heidi Cruz on Tuesday compared supporters' efforts to get her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), into the White House to the years-long effort to end slavery.

Heidi Cruz made the comment in a conference call with the campaign's National Prayer Team, The Texas Tribune reported. The Texas senator dropped out of the presidential race last week following a flailing performance in the Indiana primary, and Heidi Cruz said that she didn't want supporters to feel as if their efforts were "in vain."

"Be full of faith and so full of joy that this team was chosen to fight a long battle," she reportedly said. "Think that slavery—it took 25 years to defeat slavery. That is a lot longer than four years."...
