So What Do Humanists Believe In?

What do humanists believe?

Humanists believe in ethics without religion, secular humanism, critical thinking, compassion, and responsibility to one another.

This video explains humanist beliefs, values, and morality without God. In this episode of Humanism 101, Drew McCoy, creator of the YouTube channel Genetically Modified Skeptic, and Dr. Wil Jeudy, Texas State Director for American Atheists, discuss what humanists believe, how secular ethics work, and why morality does not require religion.

Humanism is a nonreligious worldview grounded in evidence-based reasoning, skepticism, and human dignity. Humanists do not believe morality comes from God, karma, or sacred texts. Instead, humanist values emphasize reducing suffering, increasing human flourishing, and taking responsibility for the consequences of our actions.

This video addresses common questions about secular humanism, including how humanists make moral decisions, what the Humanist Ten Commitments are, and whether humanism supports objective ethics.
