A Trump ad assails ‘chaos & violence.’ Critics point out the photo is from Ukraine in 2014. - The Washington Post

A new Trump campaign Facebook advertisement shows a split screen of two photos, one next to the other. The left one shows President Trump standing with several police leaders. The right one shows what appears to be a law enforcement officer being attacked by a mob of protesters. Under them are the words “Public safety vs. chaos & violence.” ...

...The photo, taken by Ukrainian photographer Mstyslav Chernov, is actually from 2014. It shows pro-democracy protesters in Ukraine clashing with police who were protecting Viktor Yanukovych, the country’s president, who was eventually removed from office and found guilty of high treason.....
