I received an email Monday evening from the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a fundraising vehicle for President Trump’s reelection campaign and the Republican Party. The point of the email, you will not be surprised to learn, was fundraising, though that request was couched in a pseudo-poll that asked me if I believed that “wide-open borders threaten our safety.” It looked as if there was an actual poll in the email, but it was just a picture of a poll, and when you click it, you’re directed to the campaign’s website and its “Official 2020 Democratic Candidate Platform Survey.” ...
